These photos of Bryce Canyon attest to the unique natural beauty of the area. It seems that, with almost every step, and around every bend, there is a wondrous new vista to explore and photograph.
The Bryce Canyon area was originally settled by Mormons in the 1850s. The canyon itself was named after Ebenezer Bryce who homesteaded the canyon area in 1874. It was designated a National Monument in 1923 and re-designated a National Park in 1928. It covers an area of about 55 square miles.
