Blacksmith Shop, HMS Victory- Portsmouth, England
Photo of the blacksmith shop and forge aboard HMS Victory. Royal Navy ships had to be self contained, like a small town set afloat. This included a blacksmith shop.
HMS Victory is a 104 gun ship of the line of the Royal Navy. She was launched in 1765. She is best known as Lord Horation Nelson's flagship at the Battle of Trefalger in 1805. Since 2012 the Victory has been the flagship of The First Sea Lord and remains the oldest naval vessel still commissioned.
