Duquesne Incline
Black & white image of the Duquesne Incline in Pittsburgh PA. Pittsburgh once had 17 inclined planes in operation to help people cars, and freight navigate the hills around the city. Only 2 remain: The Monongahela Incline, on Carson Street near Station Square; and the Duquesne Incline, also on Carson Street, about a half mile west of Station Square. Both run from Carson Street to Mount Washington.
