Vertical photo of central staircase inside Kimainham Gaol. Built in 1796, Kilmainham Gaol bore witness to many of the most heroic and tragic events in Ireland's struggle for independence from 1798 until the 1920s.
It is one of the largest abandon prisons in Europe and today is a national monument to Ireland's struggle for nationhood as well as a museum.
It's been used as a set in several TV shows and movies including The Italian Job.
