Frick Park Entrance Gate
Close up photo of gatehouse entrance to Frick Park in Pittsburgh PA. The initial land for Frick Park was gifted to the City of Pittsburgh in 1919 by Pittsburgh industrialist, financier, union-buster, and art patron, Henry Clay Frick. The park didn't open until 1927.
It now comprises 644 acres and is the city's largest "historic regional" park. Playgrounds, wooded hiking trails, ball fields, the Frick Environmental Center, red clay tennis courts, and the only lawn bowling green in Pennsylvania, make it a wonderful park to visit.
