Photo of Tower Bridge with it's drawbridge open to accommodate a pair of tall ships.
Tower Bridge opened in 1894 and is a draw bridge that must open to allow sailing ships to pass through for access to the Pool of London. A paid walking tour gives access to to the glass floored walkway above the bridge as well as the Victorian engine rooms that raised and lowered the bridge deck.
